Frequently Asked Questions
When Can I Pick-up: Full grooming appointments will last approximately 90 minutes for short hair cats and several hours for medium or long hair cats. You’ll be notified via text or phone call when your cat is ready for pickup.
Can I walk in with my cat loose? All pets must be transported securely in individual carriers or on a leash.
Are Tips Accepted? Absolutely—though never expected, tips are always appreciated. Behind every freshly groomed cat at Zen Cat Spa are at least two professionals who have been covered in fur, nipped at, scratched, and still lovingly completed the process with skill and care. Grooming is physically demanding in general, though our groomers go the extra mile, and we do it because we love cats. If you’re happy with the results, a tip is a thoughtful way to say thank you for the time, training, and love that go into making your cat look and feel their best.
What is your Cancellation Policy: Please be aware that all cancellations or rescheduling of appointments must be made at least 7 days prior to your scheduled appointment in order to allow time to fill your reserved appointment slot with another client. Any grooming cancellations made without adequate notice will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of your scheduled appointment.
What is your No-Show Policy: If a client fails to arrive for their scheduled grooming appointment and does not provide any advanced cancellation notification, it is considered a “No-Show”. All “No-Show” appointments will be charged the FULL scheduled grooming service fee.
What Vet Records Do You Need? To ensure the health and safety of every cat, we kindly request vet records indicating up-to-date vaccinations for Rabies and Distemper (aka FVRCP or some combo of those letters), along with clear tests for FIV, Feline Leukemia, and stool parasites within the last three years. When you provide these you will also be cleared to board at the Feline Hotel, as we require all guests meet the same medical screenings.
If my cat has fleas can you groom them? No cats allowed in with active flea infestations because we usually have other cats here for boarding and grooming. If your cat has fleas they could infect other cats, you must treat them 7 days before with selamectin, often sold as Revolution, (you have to get this from a vet click for list of vets, including walk in, near Rochester Hills). If your cat has any signs of fleas (flea “dirt” is easy to see) we will need to see a receipt for selamectin at least 7 days old. This will give the selamectin time to deactivate any fleas and eggs on your cat. Then we can groom them.
